West Cumbrian Dan Bewley continued his good form with a 15-point maximum for Belle Vue last night.
The Aces moved four points clear at the top of the Premiership with a convincing 56-34 win over Peterborough at the National Speedway Stadium.
British Champion Bewley, who is from Maryport, completed his full house with a spectacular effort to pass Niels-Kristian Iversen in Heat 15.
The home side provided all but one race winner with another former Workington rider Charles Wright (12+1) and Brady Kurtz (10) only missing out on maximums of their own in their final rides.
Wright said: “We’ve had some great results on the road, and it feels nice to finally have a home meeting and to get our first home win on the board; it’s been a long time coming.
“We’ve managed to turn things around in a short period of time and we’re high on confidence now, which I think has factored into our last few meetings.”
Peterborough boss Rob Lyon said: “We held them in the early part of the meeting and squared the heats off, but mid-meeting they pulled away and that was the difference.
“Jordan Jenkins is doing his job, and Ben Cook is coming on nicely, Niels got going at the end and Bomber did a good job as guest – but I don’t think there are too many positives, and one race winner tells its own story really.”
