Kendal Nutricare wants to expand its South Cumbrian base.
The company, on Mintbridge Road in Kendal, has applied for planning permission to create a new building to house specialist machinery and equipment for processed food for infants.
The new structure would have a ground-floor area of around 970sq m and sit alongside the company’s existing factory and associated buildings.
A design and access statement submitted in support of the application said the plan was a revised scheme seeking permission for a larger building than was approved in November of last year.
“The client needs additional space within the building than previously envisaged so as to be able to install the specialist equipment in a separate area to the powder production areas,” says the document from PJ Architectural.
A decision on the application is to be made by Westmorland and Furness Council.
