A former Barrow pub is set to go under the hammer with a guide price of £35,000.
One of the town’s oldest pubs, the Dirty Duck on Raglan Street will feature in an online auction to be held next month by auctioneer Pugh.
Listed in the 1881 census, the Dirty Duck has been a pub for over 200 years and was previously thought to have been called the Black Swan. The building has been vacant since the owners of the popular pub retired in 2019.
The former pub includes a bar, lounge and games area on the ground floor, with three bedrooms, a kitchen, lounge and bathroom on the first floor.

Paul Thompson, managing director at auction house Pugh, said: “The Dirty Duck was a well-loved pub and it would be fantastic to see the site become an asset to the local community once more.
“The pub could represent an attractive residential or commercial development opportunity for an investor, subject to gaining the necessary planning consent.

“The property sits right on the edge of the multi-million-pound Barrow Waterside project, which will bring hundreds of much-needed homes to the town, and is one of seven regeneration projects which are transforming the town.
“Not only is the Dirty Duck an excellent development opportunity, but this is also a great time to invest in Barrow.”
