A Carlisle teenager caught with indecent images of children will be sentenced by a judge at the city’s crown court.
Magistrates heard Nathan Brown, 18, committed three offences during a two-and-a-half year period between May 25 2018, and November 24.
In court today, Brown pleaded guilty to three offences of making indecent photographs of children. There were 72 images in total, including two classed in category A — the most serious — and 17 in category B.
Magistrates concluded their sentencing powers for the crimes were insufficient. They sent his case to Carlisle Crown Court and ordered the preparation of a probation service report to find out more about the offences and assist with the sentencing exercise.
This is due to take place on June 5 and Brown, of Hillary Grove, Carlisle, was granted bail in the meantime.
