The West Cumbria Amalgamation are planning to race on Sunday with the birds being marked on Saturday.
The decision was taken yesterday to cancel a Saturday race and then monitor the weather over the coronation bank holiday weekend.
The decision has now been made to go for a Sunday liberation at Cannock with forecasts suggesting a rain free day in the area and in West Cumbria.
Importantly the line of flight forecast at this season’s previous three race points – Lymm, Charnock Richard and Garstang is the same – mostly cloud but with sunny periods.
The Charnock Richard race was delayed until the Tuesday and proved a very good one.
A silver salver will go to the winner of the Amalgamation race to mark the coronation of King Charles III.
