In a 70-points thriller Glasson Rangers won the Maryport derby at Ellenborough A.
The latest round of matches in the Holmen Iggesund Cumberland ARL saw Glasson snatch a 36-34 win with a converted try three minutes from the end.
It was a disappointing end for Elbra as they had led 28-12 at half-time and still had a ten point advantage with 13 minutes left.
In the end Glasson grabbed the League points but it was a derby cracker that could have gone either way.
Glasson had been first on the score-sheet on two minutes with a try by Shane Williams which Luke Johnson converted, the first of six successful kicks.
Back came Ellenborough and on seven minutes Kian Dempsey, who was to emerge as their man of the match, went in for an unconverted try.
That was followed by two tries inside five minutes from Rocco Okesene and Ace Wedgewood, both converted by Brett Stevenson who finished with five kicks on target.

On 27 minutes Glasson came back into it with a try from Matthew Johnston and Johnson’s conversion brought it back to 16-12.
But two more converted tries in the last ten minutes of the half from Wedgewood and Dempsey put Elbra seemingly in command at 28-12.
The Glasson fight-back started four minutes after the re-start when Grant Jones scored a try and on 57 minutes Connor Wilson went in, With both converted it pulled Glasson back to 24-28.
When Elbra responded with Wedgewood’s converted try to complete his hat-trick on 67 minutes it looked as though they had steadied just in time.
But on 75 minutes Williams scored his second try which was converted and two minutes later Kieran Ritchie clinched it with a try and Johnson’s conversion won the game.
Guy Reed was the man of the match for the successful Glasson side.
It was also tight, as predicted, at Highfield where Cockermouth edged home 16-12 against Maryport after they had trailed 12-4 at the break.
Maryport had made a flying start with a try on eight minutes from Liam Anderson but the lead lasted only four minutes when Regan Tinnion crossed for the Titans.

After 21 minutes Maryport scored again when John Patterson went over and added the conversion. He increased the advantage two minutes before half-time with a penalty.
The Cockermouth recovery started five minutes after the break with a try from Seamus Hutton which Tinnion converted.

The two point advantage to Maryport stayed until the 63rd minute when Alex Barton scored a third Cockermouth try and Tinnion added the conversion.
There were no other points scored and Cockermouth held on for a hard-fought victory.
In the other game Hensingham A had a good 32-6 win at Egremont Rangers A after they scored 16 points in each half.
The game was marred by a bad injury for Egremont’s Ben Cain who broke an ankle and suffered ligament damage as well. The League sends best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Egremont, whose Lennox Huntyer was awarded their man of the match award, scored a first-half try through Jack Pae with Kaiden Block landing the conversion.
The Hensingham tries were scored by Tor Pattinson (2), Andrew Smith, Luke Charlton, Matthew Williamson and Taylor Richardson. The four goals were kicked by Richardson and Will Burns was their man of the match.
The scheduled game between Lowca and Kells A was agreed to be put back until June.
