Workington Town suffered their worst defeat of the season when they lost 46-6 at Doncaster.
When they went down at Doncaster in the Challenge Cup earlier in the campaign they were only denied by a last minute try.
This time it was over well before that stage as the Dons built on a 22-6 half-time lead to score even more points without reply in the second half.
It took only four minutes to get the home side on the scoreboard when Ben Johnston broke through and had Elliot Hall on his shoulder to take the pass and score. Connor Robinson kicked the first of his seven goals.
This proved a torrid start for Town and on eight minutes the Dons were in again after Johnston cleverly fed skipper Sam Smeaton who powered over for a second converted try.
There was a little respite for Town but they conceded again on 18 minutes when Robinson put Louis McConnell in under the sticks.
Town desperately needed a score to get back into the contest and they got it after 22 minutes when Ciaran Walker made a smart interception and raced over for the try which he converted himself.
But three minutes later Doncaster scored their fourth try after Town had made a mess of the re-start kick. Jack Sanderson raced down the wing to score in the corner.
The start of the second-half was a nightmare for Town as the hosts scored inside a minute with Jason Tali finishing-off.
Doncaster were producing some excellent flowing rugby and they were over again after 49 minutes when Tali went over under the posts, finishing off a fine move.
Town did have a little spell of pressure but didn’t help their cause on the home line when they knocked on after four tackles.
It was business as usual for Doncaster after 66 minutes when Johnston went over in the corner.
The last try came three minutes from the end when McConnell got over from close range.
