Youngsters from Rockcliffe visited Carlisle Foodbank after they raised £500 by doing a sponsored swim.

Rockcliffe Rotakids, supported by Rotary members in Brampton and Longtown, visited the foodbank to see the work they do to support the community.

Taking with them two boxes of donated items collected at the school, the first task was to unpack the goods and check that all the sell by and use by dates were current. They then sorted the items and put them on appropriate shelves. Two teams were then given bags and filled them according to a fixed list.

They were told that this task required a large team of volunteers and that over 500 adult bags and 150 children’s bags were issued every week.
