A Cumbrian arts collective has issued a plea for people to help them get a £55,000 boost from the National Lottery.
The Laal Collective, based in Wigton, is in the running for the cash for its Stories from the Kitchen Table project, which uses puppetry, drama, stories and food to bring communities together.
It will use the cash to work with local schools and community groups if it wins the public vote.
Ali McCaw, co-director at The Laal Collective, said: “The People’s Projects has given us an amazing opportunity to raise awareness and support for our work and, with your help, secure this additional much-needed funding.
“If we win, our project will make a real difference to our local community by providing opportunities to learn new skills and celebrating the wonderful range of communities that make up Wigton. We now need local people to get behind us, to show their support and vote.”
Voting opens at 9am on Monday, May 15 and people can vote at https://www.thepeoplesprojects.org.uk/
