Carlisle United’s top goal-scorer Kristian Dennis has decided to leave and join Tranmere Rovers for the 2023/24 season.
Dennis, 33, joined United from St Mirren in January 2022 and scored 23 goals in his 65 appearances.
Tranmere manager Ian Dawes told the club website: “It’s great to bring Kristian to the club. He comes off the back of scoring 20 league goals and helping Carlisle to promotion and I believe he can add the goals we lacked in the last campaign.
“He’s one of only three players in League Two to score more than 20 goals last season and he also shares our mentality and desire to push for promotion this season.
“I look forward to working with him.”
Meanwhile manager Paul Simpson said on the Carlisle website: “We offered Denno a one-year contract with a second year extension based on apperances, but he has chosen the security of a two-year deal.
“He played a big part in our success last season and we’d like to wish him all the best as he moves on to his new club.”
Dennis was one of five of last season’s squad offered new terms for the coming campaign.
