Flying ex-Barrow and Workington Town winger Tee Ritson has won high praise off St Helens coach Paul Wellens.
Ritson, a Thailand international who began his career in the Cumberland ARL with Maryport, took his Super League chance with Saints this season.
He was selected for an eighth successive game last night at Hull and that made 12 appearances in the top flight so far.
Ahead of the Hull game Wellens said: “Tee is a good example to all our young players. Although it’s his first year as a full-time rugby player he is 27 and is really mature.
“What you get with that maturity is an ability to take on, retain information and go out there and do something about it.
“For any young player coming through in the game, Tee is a good example of how you can develop and develop quickly.
“When he first came into the team, he didn’t know a lot about the group or a lot about our systems but he has very quickly learned about them and put them into practice on the training field and then out in games and his performances are a reflection of that.”
Ritson couldn’t help Saints to another win at Hull as they were well beaten 28-6 but he did produce two outstanding try-saving tackles.
