Cyclist seriously injured in South Cumbrian crash

A cyclist has been seriously injured in a collision in South Cumbria.

Emergency services were called today, July 3, at around 5.30am to Allithwaite Road in Grange-over-Sands. 

A male cyclist, in his 40s, has been taken to Preston hospital with serious injuries. 

The driver of a white refrigerated van was uninjured. 

The road will be closed for several hours whilst a forensic collision investigation takes place. Diversions are in place via via Cartmel. 

Officers would like to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the collision.
