It’s a big day for Workington Town on Sunday when they officially launch their ladies team into competitive rugby league.
They start with a home game at Derwent Park against Newcastle, who are also new to competitive rugby league (kick-off 11.15am).
The Town ladies have been training since January and have built up a squad of 26 players ahead of the big kick-off.
Two friendlies have taken place ahead of the Newcastle game as the Town Ladies have been fine-tuning their skills and style of play.
Cumbria Crack’s John Walsh caught up with the captain Laura Ivison ahead of the big day as she explained how the squad is made up and how they have been preparing for the first competitive game.
