West Cumbria stages a National Conference derby tomorrow in the top-flight.
Wath Brow Hornets host local rivals Kells in a Premier Division clash which will be as keenly contested as games between the pair usually are.
Now the Hornets are going into the contest on the back of a 24-18 defeat at York Acorn.
A win would have put them a point behind leaders Hunslet Amateurs.
Kells, on the other hand, were splendid 26-18 home winners against Rochdale Mayfield who have been one of the standout teams this year.
Coach Peter Smith said: “We were 12-0 down soon after they scored in the first minute but played poorly in the first-half.
“The second half changed when we got among them and showed a bit of bottle.
“Dave Lowery scored in the last minute with a good individual try and Ross Gainford converted to seal the game in our favour.”
Egremont Rangers are challenging strongly for a play-off place in Division One as leaders West Bowling spear to have the title already within their grasp.
The Gillfoot side beat Crosfields 42-16 last week but face a sterner test tomorrow at Stanningley who are only three points behind with a game in hand.
It’s a big game, too, in Division Two for Barrow Island when they travel to Wigan St Jude’s.
St. Jude’s are two points behind the Islanders with a game in hand and the winners will feel they are back in play-off contention.
Seaton Rangers haven’t a game, which is unfortunate as they enjoyed a rare victory last week – but a good one – beating play-off chasing Beverley 14-10. It was only their second win in 11 Third Division games.
Top match is at Ellenborough where Paul Gorge’s men entertain Leigh East – which is third versus second.
A win for Elbra would put them level with their visitors and they would still have a game in hand.
Millom can also do them a favour as the Woollybacks entertain League leaders Oldham St. Anne’s.
Hensingham are at home to Bentley and will have targeted this one. They both have six points, with only Seaton below them, but Hensingham have played a game less.
