Workington Reds have taken talented Oldham teenager Kofi Moore on loan for the start of their NPL Premier Division campaign.
Moore, 18, is a first-year professional at Boundary Park and played in half of Oldham’s friendly at Hyde United on Saturday.
He will be with the Reds until January 7 2024 and has been recommended by Oldham’s youth team manager Paul Murray, like Reds boss Danny Grainger a former Carlisle United player.
A right-sided winger Moore is said to have plenty of pace and skill who likes to take on defenders and after his first-half display at Hyde, the Oldham website reported: “Kofi Moore made a bright start to his professional Latics career, being a real nuisance on the right wing, showing attacking intent with a series of dribbles and runs into the box.”
Moore joined Oldham as a 15-year-old and has worked his way through the age group system at the club until he joined the first team for training sessions. Early last year he had a short loan spell with Avro in the North West Counties League.
He is well thought of by the National League club and will be included for the first time in the Reds squad for Saturday’s friendly against Carlisle United.
Reds boss Grainger said: “We need additions to our options up front and I am really pleased to have Kofi confirmed. He has pace to burn and can be a real asset to us.”
