Emmie and Grace Macaulay with Malcolm Holmes and Sir Robert

There was only a small turnout for a four-race card on the return to Moss Peteral with 23 entered – and only three for the opening senior race.

All three took turns at leading them in the early stages with the trio of Willie and Craig Mark and Billy Lindsay’s Sportsman; Malcolm Holmes’ Senor and George McGimpsey and Gillian and Millie Telford’s Millie’s Lass going well.

After roughly 20 minutes racing the trio were still racing on together with none of the hounds having an advantage.

Reports came in from the road crossing soon after that Millie’s Lass had a couple of lengths to spare on Sportsman who in turn also had a couple of lengths on Senor.

Jumping the final wall and racing to the line it was a great battle between Sportsman and Millie’s Lass with the former just getting up to claim the win with Senor a couple of lengths back in third.

The Pups had a slip of six with Anna and Kerry Lindsay and Janie McAulay’s Zinger being the early leader with Christopher Henderson’s Bash On for company.

After nearly six minutes five of them were together but they had a scale which allowed George McGimpsey, Gillian, Millie and Charlie Telford’s Charlie’s Dream and Christopher Henderson’s Nash On to get away and up a lead on Zinger and Alan and Andy Horn’s Show Boat.

Back into view after roughly 16 minutes Zinger had gone back to the front and had an advantage over Charlie’s Dream.

However when they were seen going past the barn the pair were now together.

Jumping the final wall Charlie’s Dream had gone clear and won well from Zinger with Nash On in third.

Show Boat finished fourth ahead of Bash On with thefinal ticket going to Linda Neale and Josh Bryden’s Eagle Grace.

The Open Maidens had a line-up of seven with Neil and Gillian Brown and Joel and Derrick Bulman’s Dundee leading them away with George Burgon and Carole Tunstall’s Mr Mally.

Geroge Burgon and Tallulah

Reports came in from the last road crossing that Mr Mally had a couple of lengths to spare on kennel mate Tallulah who in turn had a slight advantage on Dundee.

Jumping the final wall it was a good race to the line with Tallulah getting up to claim the win over Dundee and Mr Mally in third.

Marti and Amy Borthwick’s Castle Callant finished fourth ahead of Eden Ripple and Gillian Brown and Mickey O’Brien’s Peggy Sue.

The final race of the night was for the Veterans with seven taking part and leading them out was George Burgon and Carole Tunstall’s Overwater Hunter and Andy and Alan Horn and Simon Walker’s Overwater Louie.

George McGimpsey and Charlie’s Dream

After roughly 16 minutes racing Malcolm Holmes’ Sir Robert had established a lead and went on to win from Sandra Mordue and Ted Storrow’s Denton Shamrock and Willie and Craig Mark and Jack Lindsay’s Summer Spirit.

David Clifford’s Eden Romina finished fourth ahead of Overwater Hunter and Linda Neale, Mark, Josh and Georgia Bryden’s Eagle Rock.
