Ukrainian parents living in South Lakeland are learning how to save lives in an emergency situation.
Kendal College’s Multiply Project is delivering training to make sure parents feel confident dealing with medical emergencies before returning to Ukraine, with their children, for a visit this summer.
Parents were taught about things such as right angles for the recovery position; counting in English for CPR; calculating dosages of medicine; understanding and measuring body temperature; and percentages of burn size.
These new found skills could prove invaluable in an emergency, said organisers.
