Kendal Town remain 100 per cent in the North West Counties Premier League after a 3-0 win at Padiham.
They bounced back from Saturday’s FA Cup defeat to Consett by scoring their third League win, but their first away from home.
They had been the best side in the first-half after taking an early lead but still held just the one goal advantage at the break.
Brandon Croskell-Robinson did well out wide before firing in a sixth minute cross which was turned neatly into the corner of the net by James Bailey.
The Mintcakes were close to doubling their lead on 28 minutes when Dan Gray put over a dangerous ball which struck a defender and trickled inches past the post.
Elliot Wilson was close to adding a second goal for Kendal after 59 minutes but although he got tp Ryan Winder’s cross he could only steer the ball wide.
That sparked the best spell of the game for Padiham and in quick succession they hit the post and the bar while the dangerous Joel Melia fired over when a corner landed at his feet just beyond the far post.
Kendal weathered the storm and doubled their lead on 82 minutes from the penalty spot. Substitute Dave Sherlock appeared to stamp on Jordan Monthe and was shown a straight red and from the spot Winder fired home.
There was further joy for Jimmy Marshall’s men in the sixth minute of the eight that were added on. Bailey closed in on the keeper Harry Moss and although forced into a tight angle managed to finish with aplomb.
