The West Cumbria Amalgamation raced from Appleton yesterday, liberated at noon into a fresh south west wind.
For Cumbria Crack our man in Workington John Walsh was at the Stainburn loft of Peter Dobie and Ralph Palmer again to watch them home – but also for more information on one loft racing.
The race partners sent 29 to the race and their first arrival was at 1-46-33, a red chequer bred in the stock loft.
When Ralph went with the clock an hour later there were just three to come and returns across the Federation appear to have been good.
Before leaving John had another word with Peter about his experiences of One Loft Racing, his advice to local fanciers contemplating entry next year and how much it costs to send to the various races which are growing year by year.
You can listen to Peter’s verdict here……..
