New West Cumberland Sunday League set to begin

The new West Cumberland Sunday League gets underway this weekend with a full programme of matches.

Although a Sunday League, fixtures have been confirmed for mid-week and the first ones will be played on Thursday, August 17.

It’s an amalgamation of the Workington and Egremont Sunday Leagues and the 19 clubs have been split into a Premier Division and a First Division with 9 and 10 participants.

All Sunday games will kick-off at 11am while the mid-week matches start at 6.30pm.

First games on Sunday are as follows:

  • Premier Division – Blue Bell v Moresby Rangers; FC Cosmos v Dearham Commercial; Northside v Thornhill; Parkside v Deer Orchard,
  • First Division – FC Butchers v King’s Arms; Salterbeck v Seaton Rangers; Swan v The Sun; Royal Oak v Flimby Social.

The first mid-week games on Thursday are:

  • Premier Division – Blue Bell v Northside; Dearham Commercial v Deer Orchard; Moresby Rangers v Parkside; Thornhill v Lowca Pirates.
  • First Division – Flimby Social v Seaton Rangers; King’s Arms v The Sun; Sun Inn v FC Butchers; Swan v Senhouse Street; Royal Oak v Salterbeck.
