Weather puts paid to last trails but this lady is one in a million

Joy Lister with Lady Million

The weather put paid to the last two trails at Calebtreak last night as they had to be cancelled due to the mist being down.

The senior hounds did run and there was a very good slip of 35 hounds with Winterfell favourite after his one-man show on Saturday in the senior hounds.

However when they came back onto the finish it was Lady Million for Brian and Joy Lister who came with a lead to beat Winterfell into second place.

Lady Million appears to be coming back into good form but she does like Calebreak having finished second there when running as a puppy.

Joseph Abram and Sadie Wilson’s Maverick, who was stepping up to run the longer distance of the senior hounds, finished in third place while Ron came home fourth for the Bell family.

Jenny’s Oracle finished in fifth for Glenis and Raymond Farren and Thorn Thunder took sixth for the Burrow’s family.

The inclement weather didn’t improve as the night went on and with the mist down it was impossible for the Open Pups and the Open Restricted trail to run and these had to be cancelled.

Hopefully the weather will have improved for the next trails which take place at Rydal Hound Show with the first trail slipping at noon. Each trail will be run for £50 prize money plus rosettes.

August 14 – Calebreak

  • Hounds – 1. Lady Million; 2. Winterfell’; 3. Maverick; 4. Ron; 5. Jenny’s Oracle; 6. Thorn   Thunder. 35 ran, time 30.24.

Remaining trails were cancelled due to weather conditions.
