Kendal’s Sainsbury’s store has reopened this morning after a fire forced the firm to shut its doors for five days.
It is understood an electrical fire on the roof on Monday meant the Mint Bridge supermarket had to temporarily shut, although this was not confirmed.
The store opens at 7am on Saturdays.
A Sainsbury’s spokesman said: “Our Kendal superstore was temporarily closed while we repaired an electrical fault that it experienced earlier this week.
“The power supply was restored and our petrol station reopened on Friday.
“A small number of products in the store may not be available for a short while after the store reopens while we replenish our stock and carry out some out further repairs.
“We would like to thank our customers in Kendal for their support and patience at this time and we apologise for the inconvenience caused.”
