
Both Dearham United and Bransty Rangers were aiming to put their respective defeats on Saturday behind them and return to winning ways in mid-week.
But it was honours even as they fought out a 1-1 draw in their Cumberland County League Division One meeting.
Matthew Oglanby netted for the hosts Dearham while Bransty’s goal scorer was Dean Relph.
There will be a mixture of league and cup action on Saturday across the Cumberland County League.
In the Premier Division, top of the table Aspatria will be looking to maintain their 100 per cent record when they host Wigton Harriers.
Wigton are unbeaten themselves ahead of this local derby but are still looking for their first win of the season after drawing both of their opening games.
Maryport Athletic are another side aiming to record their first win when they travel to Cleator Moor Celtic Reserves. Their hosts have won one and lost one so far this campaign.
Elsewhere, it’s a meeting of second v third as Unisun Athletic welcome Workington AFC Reserves to the Sheepmount on Saturday.
Cockermouth have started the season well sitting top of the Division One table after two games. They welcome Silloth who are still waiting to open their account for the season.
In the other Division one fixture, with both clubs looking for their first points of the campaign Whitehaven Miners Social Development entertain Mirehouse.
Keswick head to Windscale Reserves in the first round of the Conway Cup. Elsewhere in the cup, Whitehaven AFC Reserves host Bransty Rangers.
