At around 12.15pm today, the peace and tranquillity of Penrith town centre was shattered as the Cumbria Charity Convoy passed through the town centre.
The convoy made up of tractors, lorries and a few other vehicles had left the show site at Clifton Dykes at around 10am and travelled a route which included Cliburn, Temple Sowerby, Langwathby, and Plumpton before heading back through Penrith town centre and back to the show site.
AW Jenkinson had the first truck the company bought in the convoy, followed by a new 73 reg Scania 460R which can only have been on the road for no more than nine days.
