A Lake District road is closed overnight this week so it can be resurfaced.
Westmorland and Furness Highways is resurfacing 500m of Borrans Road in Ambleside.
Contractors are working from 6.30pm to 1am to minimise disruption and the scheme began yesterday, Monday September 11.
Access is maintained for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists as the pavements are largely unaffected.
A diversion is in place via the A591 and Wansfell Road for road traffic.
