The Range has agreed to a £5 million deal to buy the Wilko brand.
It comes after a rescue deal for 300 stores fell through earlier this week.
While the deal will not stop shops from closing down – some staff may be re-employed as a result, the BBC has reported.
It means that The Range will own Wilko’s website and could choose to stock and sell some of its products.
The firm currently has 210 UK stores, and also plans to sell click-and-collect products from the Wilko website.
Wilko collapsed into administration in August, raising concerns over the futures of its 12,500 workers.
Cumbria also has Wilko branches in Cockermouth, Whitehaven and Carlisle – but it is yet to be confirmed if these stores will close.
B&M has bought 51 stores for £13m, but the business said that it wouldn’t be revealed which had been saved until November.
