The top two teams in the Holmen Iggesund Cumberland ARL go head-to-head at Hensingham.
League winners Distington take on runners-up Wath Brow A on Saturday in the traditional top four final having seen off Lowca and Kells A respectively in last week’s semi-finals.
Distington, already looking forward to the challenge of National Conference rugby next season, will stick with the younger players who have been brought in this season.
Coach Aiden Worthington said: “It’s with next season in mind, bringing these young lads on and giving them experience of finals, that I’ve decided to stick with them.
“I might have been tempted to bring in some of the older lads for this one but I think the young’uns deserve a chance.
“Now Wath Brow have a much heavier pack than we do so the aim will be to move them about a bit. They are a good side but we are going in with confidence and everyone is looking forward to the game.”
Wath Brow have already played – and lost – one final so far, going down to Maryport at Distington in the E Lamb and Son Amateur Cup.
Coach Paul Farrell said: “I think it’s a good achievement an A team getting to two finals and we are looking forward to it. It’s a final and over 80 minutes the best team will win.
“Distington are a young, skilful side and we expect them to come at us and we have prepared accordingly, although training this week has been pretty relaxed.
“We have used over 40 players this season but have a squad of 20 for this and there will need to be one or two late fitness tests. Unfortunately Brad White misses out after picking up a knock last week and Peter Caddy will come in.”
The action at Hensingham gets underway at 2.30pm.
