A Cumbrian manor house has been given a new lease of life.
Moresby Hall, near Whitehaven, was bought by Jo Arthur and Steph Eilbeck.
Most recently run as a guest house, Jo and Steph have revamped the Grade I listed manor house.
Its history dates back to Medieval times and is one of the county’s most important buildings, according to English Heritage.
Jo said: “Myself and Steph were delighted when our offer on Moresby Hall was accepted.
“The property has so much history and is already very popular. When it came on the market, we saw how much potential the house has and before we’d even put an offer in, we were bursting with ideas of what we could do to put our own stamp on the house and enhance the guest experience even further!”
Steph added: “Since officially launching as Moresby Hall Hotel in September, we’ve been overwhelmed with support from the local community, local businesses and our wonderful guests and team.
“Already, we’ve made some major changes including refurbishing the reception rooms and the dining room and we’re continuing to make further improvements throughout the hotel for guests to enjoy.
“In just a short time on our new journey, we’ve been delighted to welcome many hotel and restaurant guests already.
“We’re also excited to be opening bookings to host weddings, special events and functions, which is something we’re honoured to offer as Moresby Hall is a perfect venue for such special occasions and we are committed to providing an exceptional, unforgettable experience.”
