The Cumberland County League’s Conway Cup produced a thrilling derby encounter.
Mirehouse and Bransty were all square 3-3 at the end so the tie had to be settled on penalties.
That was tight, too, before Bransty emerged the winners 5-4 from the spot-kick showdown.
In the game itself Ryan Smith, Kyran Smith and Kyle Bayliff scored for Mirehouse while Liam O’Pray, Chris Armstrong and Stewart O’Pray took it to penalties for Bransty.
In the other Conway Cup-tie Gosforth emerged 2-0 winners at home to Maryport Athletic with goals from Robbie Bagley and Jay Weatherill.
Aspatria were 4-1 winners in the Premier Division, successfully seeing off the challenge from visitors Cleator Moor reserves.
Andrew Trestianu, Dom Harrison, Matt Rudd and Kieran McLuskey scored the Aspatria goals with Harley Cueto responding for Celtic.

Unisun Athletic came-out on top 3-1 at home to Wigton Harriers with goals from Jason McAleese, Georghe Carter and Ben Atkinson (pen). Tom Hill was on the mark for Wigton.
That was also the score at Whitehaven Miners Social where the hosts beat Workington Reds Development side.

In Division One Keswick continued their good start to the season in their new surroundings and beat Windscale reserves 3-1.

Callum West (2) and Richard Bannister provided the Keswick goals with Owen Bell responding for Windscale.
Silloth have had some maulings in recent times so nobody would begrudge a little extra celebrations when they beat Whitehaven Miners Social Development side 7-1.

Kris Nichol led the way with a hat-trick while Adam Steel, Gary Pearson, Reece Blake and Kian Orchard were also on target. Luke Thompson replied for the Development side.
In the other First Division game Cockermouth won 3-2 at Whitehaven Reserves with goals from Kyran Bertram (2) and Mike Graham.
