Whitehaven 2023 Player of the Year Josh Rourke has joined Championship rivals Batley Bulldogs for 2024.
Rourke, 24, a former Salford product, played 28 games for Whitehaven last season, scoring 11 tries and kicking 60 goals.
He was the club’s Player of the Year and picked up four other awards after a starring campaign in Whitehaven colours.
It was known then that he would be moving on and Batley have revealed they have landed his signature for next season.
Batley coach Mark Moxon said: “Josh is a great carrier of the ball with a good pair of hands and good feet. He is also a good goal-kicker and left footed, which is something we lacked last year.
“I’ve been tracking him for a while so it’s good to get it over the line.”

Another Whitehaven player is on the move with 28-year-old Dan Spencer-Tonks joining Swinton Lions.
Swinton coach Aslan Kilshaw said: “Dan will complement our other middles with his tough ball-carrying as well as aggressive defence.
“He had an outstanding season at Whitehaven and previously had experience in Super League.”
