Serious three-vehicle crash closes A591 in South Cumbria

A serious collision closed a section of the A591 in South Cumbria.

It happened at around 8.10am today, November 9, near Sizergh and involved a Mazda MX-5, Audi Q3 and a BMW 118D.

The driver of the Mazda, a man in his 20s, was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the Audi, a man in his 60s, and a passenger, a woman in her 50s, suffered minor injuries.

The driver of the BMW, a woman in her 30s, was uninjured.

The road remained closed while officer carried out their investigations. Closures wee in place at Shenston, Plumgarth roundabout and Brettagh Holt roundabout.

The road reopened at around 2.40pm.
