People who would like to give something back to their community are urged to find out more about North Cumbria Search and Rescue at an open evening this week.
The volunteer service is holding the event on Wednesday at Carlisle East Fire Station from 7pm.
The team was officially formed in November 2018 to serve Carlisle and the communities of north Cumbria following the aftermath of Storm Desmond, and became a registered charity in March 2019.
It provides training to community groups upon request in subjects including water awareness, first aid and mental health first aid and its aim is to enhance the resilience of local communities during any unforeseen flooding events, help reduce the potential loss of life and property and to reduce the impacts of mental health problems.
The charity said there were several roles available from in water search and rescue, land based missing person search to team welfare and fundraising.
