Plans to convert former ambulance halls into staff accommodation for a Lake District hotel have been approved.
Westmorland Hotels will transform the former St John Ambulance halls, off Stockghyll Lane in Ambleside, for staff at the Salutation Hotel after the Lake District National Park Authority gave it the go-ahead.
According to planning documents the applicant will provide one room of staff accommodation on the ground floor and seven rooms on the first floor.
The only changes to the external appearance of the building is the alteration of an existing window to a single entrance door along with minor landscaping to create a footpath to this door from the existing side access.
Westmorland Hotels also wants to convert the former St John Ambulance garage into staff accommodation and that application is currently under consideration.
