Workington Victoria’s show for young hens was won by the Flimby fancier Alan Bromley.

His blue hen caught the attention of judge Barry Irving and his assistant David Lofthouse, who both gave specials.

They had 55 entries to judge and they decided on tickets for: 1, Bromley and co; 2, Blacklock and sons; 3, McLuckie bros; 4, Kenmare and son; 5, J. and A. Edgar; 6, 7, N. Semple; 8, Martindale and Lawman.

Next week’s show will have two classes – for ticket winners and fancy coloureds with judging at 7.30pm in the Union Jack.
