Two Cumbrians have been honoured for their fundraising efforts for the British Heart Foundation.
The pair were honoured in the Outstanding Contribution category of the Heart Hero Awards.
Davina Sim, of Silloth, and Geoff Fisher, of Armathwaite, near Carlisle, are well known in their local communities for the incredible work they do raising not money for the charity and awareness about heart disease.
Davinia, who was inspired by the death of her husband following a heart attack in 1987, has raised more than £60,000 for the charity by holding an annual golf competition hosted over the years at the Silloth and Carlisle golf clubs.
Geoff has organised a walk every year for the past 26 years, known as the Armathwaite Challenge Walk, which has brought in more than £71,000 for the heart charity.

Geoff and Davina attended the British Heart Foundation’s Heart Hero Awards ceremony in London. The event was attended by a star-studded guest list including Pippa Middleton, Vernon Kay and David Seaman among others.
Geoff said: “I was really surprised and couldn’t understand why I had won when all I was doing over the years was generating funds for a great charity. I totally do not deserve any recognition!”
Davina added: “When I heard I had received the award I was a bit gobsmacked. I said ‘what do you mean, a heart hero?’ – because it was still a bit early in the morning I wasn’t really with it!”.
