In the last Cumberland County League fixtures of 2023, only two games went ahead but there was no shortage of goals.

In the Premier Division, Whitehaven Miners Social were on the road and travelled to Gosforth where they picked up all three points after a 6-2 victory.

Jamie Thursby (2), Lewis Park (2), Bradley O’Pray and Daniel Hill were the scorers for Miners with both of Gosforth goals coming from Rhys Singleton.

In Division One, Windscale Reserves welcomed Whitehaven AFC Reserves and it was the visitors who claimed the win on this occasion.

Lewis Keeler and Joe Martin both found the back of the net for Whitehaven with Will Starkley also on the score-sheet with a penalty.

Dawson Webster was on target for Windscale as Whitehaven went home the happiest with a 3-1 win and all three points.

The league returns on January 6 2024 after the Christmas break.

The following fixtures were postponed:

  • Wigton Harriers v Maryport Athletic
  • Workington AFC Res v Aspatria

DIV 1:
