A paraglider was airlifted to hospital after falling 164ft after a failed launch in the Lake District.
Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team was called out by Cumbria police to Wind Gap, Pillar, on January 6 at around 2.30pm.
The paraglider suffered pelvis and leg injuries.
Initially, the team asked for support from their colleagues at Cockermouth as they could access the location more easily, but shortly after agreeing to help they needed to respond to another call-out in their area.
Due to the location and likelihood of serious injuries, the team requested a Coastguard helicopter.

They reached the scene and winched their paramedic to the scene to begin treatment. The helicopter then ferried Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team members to the scene to support.
The injured paraglider received strong pain relief and was transferred carefully into the vacuum mattress for full body stabilisation.
Once in the stretcher the paraglider was winched into the helicopter and flown to hospital to continue his treatment.
The team said: “We wish the casualty well with a speedy recovery from his injuries. Our thanks go to Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team and Rescue 199 for their swift responses.”
