The Rebuild Site has appointed a new community officer as it plans to expand its services into West Cumbria.
The surplus construction materials reuse hub is joined by Amy Dixon.
With operations firmly established at Kingmoor Park in Carlisle, Rebuild is planning to extend its coverage to West Cumbria and beyond.
It said the strategic move to appoint a community officer was a testament to their commitment to fostering community connections and collaboration, raising carbon awareness, and enhancing the overall well-being of the residents in the Carlisle and West Cumbria.
Rebuild plans to broaden the range of services on offer to further demonstrate how adopting circular economy practices is part of the solution to address the global climate crisis, and importantly also benefit local communities and businesses at the same time.
Amy will organise and oversee community-driven initiatives within the Rebuild Site’s dedicated community spaces, including workshops that cater to the diverse interests and needs of local residents.
The workshops will cover a wide range of topics, including skill development, education, and sustainable and circular activities. In addition, Amy will actively support ongoing community projects facilitated by The Rebuild Site. This includes collaborating with local organisations, businesses, and individuals to ensure that our community projects thrive.
