Whitehaven have announced the launch of this season’s school rugby league programme.
Club players are attending Monkwray School to assist with reading and rugby skills while Mayfield School and Whitehaven Academy have asked for skills sessions and in-class mentoring. The Australian players are committed and eager to get started.
A Whitehaven spokesman said: “We would like to thank our sponsors for making this possible – Stork Engineering, Ortus Energy and Morgan Sindall.
“In addition to this we are also hosting a half term training camp run by three of our new Australian contingent Lachlan Hanneghan, Owen McCarron and Jake Maizen.
“This will be at the Ortus Rec on Thursday February 15 starting at 1pm lasting for two hours. This camp is open to ages six to 15 for the price of £8 per child and is available to book via our online store.”
