A man in his 20s had to be taken to hospital following an attack in Kirkby Stephen on New Year’s Day.

Police have today, January 15, released an image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident and are urging anyone who recognises him to get in touch.

It happened at around 12.30am on January 1 at The Engine Shed at Pennine View Park.

Police are also keen to speak with a woman who was present at time of the assault.

She is described as white, in her early 20s, and around 6ft, of a slim build with long blonde hair.

On the night of the assault she was seen wearing a blue sequin top, a leather miniskirt and tights.

Anyone with information relating to this incident can report online at www.cumbria.police.uk/report-it quoting incident number 24 of January 1 2024 or call 101. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
