Music festival Solfest is celebrating its 20th anniversary and organisers have revealed the line-up for this year’s event.
The four-day festival takes place from August 22 to 25 at North Lakes Country Park in Silloth and it is hoped 10,000 people will attend.
Headliners for 2024 will include De La Soul, The Wailers, The Bluetones, Joy Division and New Order bassist Peter Hook and the Light, along with electronic music pioneers Utah Saints and alternative rock sensation Republica.
Festival organiser Sam Johnston, of Penrith, said: “We are thrilled to mark our 20th anniversary with such a fantastic line-up, evoking memories of many incredible moments. The Wailers, who headlined in 2010, were our first choice for the anniversary year, their performance is still talked about to this day. There’s an undeniable magic in Bob Marley’s songbook that brings generations together.
“Twenty years is an amazing achievement for a festival. I first attended in 2007 at the age of 17, and I’ve witnessed the festival evolve through numerous changes since then but the one thing that never changes is the vibe and the people who attend.”
