Kells made progress in the BARLA National Cup for Under-14’s when they beat Stanningley 20-4.

Conditions were not perfect for the youngsters with a strong wind on the Pit Field making life difficult for them.

But it was Kells who coped best and scored four tries to cement a comfortable victory in the end.

Harry Vaughan led the way with a brace and also touching down were Ashton Hetherington and Rhys Williamson. Goal kicker Williamson landed two of the four conversion attempts.

Maryport produced a superb performance to win 26-10 at Hull Dockers, no mean achievement given the travelling involved.
