Ahead of their home Challenge Cup tie with Oldham on Sunday, Barrow Raiders have announced a major new sponsorship deal.

Northern Competitions, regarded as the UK’s fastest-growing competition page, have been unveiled as the new main club sponsors.

The deal will run for at least the next two seasons and will also include naming rights for the Raiders’ home ground at Craven Park.

Northern Competitions are a family-run online competition company based in Cumbria. They were formed in September 2020 and have gone from strength to strength over the last 12 months, with daily draws offering users the chance to win huge prizes, cash rewards and instant wins.

Northern Competitions are huge supporters of local sport, and currently sponsor over 30 youth and amateur teams across Cumbria and the surrounding areas.

Northern Competitions founder Ryan Dodgson said: “We are really excited to be teaming up with a club like Barrow Raiders over the next two seasons.

“We have already worked alongside a number of amateur clubs across the region, and felt that now was the perfect time to step into the professional game.

“Northern Competitions have been supported massively by the Barrow community, and following some really positive talks with the club, it became clear that Barrow Raiders would be a club we’d like to give back to.”

Barrow Raiders chairman Steve Neale said: “We are really excited to be forming this relationship with Northern Competitions over the next two seasons.

“As the UK’s fastest-growing competitions page, it is a time of real excitement for everyone involved with Northern Competitions.

“As a club, we are delighted that they have chosen to support our work on and off the field as we build towards what we hope will be a successful 2024 Betfred Championship season.

“We are determined to look after Ryan and work together to help realise our loftier ambitions.”

Commercial manager Adele Neale said: “As a club, we have been trying to get Ryan and Northern Competitions onboard with the Raiders for the last couple of years, and are delighted to have such a large sponsor over the line.

“Ryan and Northern Competitions are so well-known throughout Cumbria, and we feel privileged that they have chosen to work with Barrow Raiders for the next two years.”

The club would like to place on record its thanks to previous main club sponsors Matt Johnson Prestige for their wonderful support of the Raiders over the past four seasons.
