The A66 Eastbound has been closed following a three vehicle crash.
Police are dealing with the incident just past Kemplay roundabout, heading out of Penrith towards Appleby.
The crash was reported today at 1.22pm and traffic is described as heavy from A686 Carleton Avenue to the Culgaith turn off, B6412.
Police are asking people to use alternative routes if travelling on the A66 towards Appleby.
