Mitchells’ new head of antiques & fine art James Moore is teaming up with our sister title The Cumberland & Westmorland Herald next Monday for a free pop-up valuation event.
it will be held at our office at 33 Middlegate, Penrith, on Monday, March 4 between 10am and 2pm.
People can bring in their artwork, artefacts or photos of big items completely free – and there will also be an opportunity to make a donation to Eden Animal Rescue.
James said: “We already offer free drop-in valuations at our Cockermouth saleroom during office hours but we wanted to make it easier for people further afield to access our services, particularly in the Penrith and Eden area.
“Over 60 people came to our Maryport event – and we’re hoping for another good turnout next Monday.
“People often have something they think might be valuable so this is their chance to find out for free. Whether it’s a painting, jewellery or something else, we’re keen to encourage more people to consider selling by auction through Mitchells.
“We reach buyers all over the world with our international marketing and can achieve the best prices through live online bidding.
“I’ll be there next Monday with David Lomas, a specialist in toys, model railways, books, stamps and jewellery, and valuer Claire Machin who’s also on the look-out for items for our Maritime & Transport Sale, so there’ll be plenty of expertise on hand to help with valuations.”
The free ‘pop-up valuation event takes place on Monday March 4 from 10am until 2pm at the Cumberland & Westmorland Herald’s office, 33 Middlegate, Penrith.
People are invited to simply drop by with their items – or a photo of them if they’re too big to carry – for a free, no-obligation valuation in return for a donation to the Herald’s chosen charity, Eden Animal Rescue.
