The A689 at Hallbankgate will be closed for 10 nights so it can be resurfaced.
Contractors will start work on the stretch of road, between Plane Head Cottage and Hallbankgate Quarry, on Monday March 4.
Work is expected to last for 10 nights, excluding weekends, weather permitting, between 6pm and 6am.
It is due to be complete on Friday, March 15.
A full diversion route will be put in place.
If residents or businesses require access to their property, they are asked to discuss it with a traffic marshal, who will be on site during the work and people are advised that there might be some delays in accessing properties.
Access will be maintained for emergency services during the work.
