The first semi-final in the Fred Conway County Cup is being played at Brunton Park tonight.

Carlisle United will face County League side Whitehaven Miners Social for a place in the final.

The game will kick off at 7pm and tickets are priced at £3 for over-18s and £2 for under-18s.

United progressed to the semi-final after beating Penrith 4-1 last month, while the Miners Social beat Alston Moor FC. But the Miners lost 6-3 on Saturday to County League leaders Cleator Moor Celtic reserves.

Tickets will be available from the West Stand ticket office from 6pm on the day of the game – but it will be cash only.

The winners will play either holders Workington Reds or Maryport Athletic in the final.

The two West Cumbrian sides are waiting to agree a date with hosts Maryport offering the Reds two dates to choose from.
