The Cumbria Pool Association is launching a new initiative aimed at developing the next generation of pool players across the county.
Cumbria is currently the only county in the North West region without an Under‑23 squad, and this programme has been created to change that.
Led by Garry Southern (CPA Chairman) and delivered in partnership with the David Allen Community Trust Fund, the initiative will provide structured opportunities for young players to learn, compete and progress within the sport.
Through a series of ‘Mini Series’ development events, participants will benefit from:
• Coaching sessions
• Competitive knockout tournaments
• Incentives and support for players looking to advance to the next level
Southern said: “This programme is designed, not only to nurture emerging pool talent, but also to offer positive, engaging activities for young people within the local community — providing a constructive pastime and a welcoming environment.”
