World number two Fredrik Lindgren topped the podium with victory in Charles Wright’s testimonial meeting at Redcar on Sunday.
The Swedish superstar had to come from the back in the final, passing the resurgent Erik Riss in tricky conditions with rain falling, whilst Belle Vue and Poole racer Ben Cook took third place with Dan Bewley missing out.
Lindgren said: “It was very nice throughout the whole meeting I would say, we were lucky with the weather and the track was good.
“I enjoyed it, it was a good turnout and a good event and unfortunately we had some rain in the Final but I made it happen anyway.
“I found a good line right up by the inside, the shortest way around when it was so slippery, and I had to use a bit of throttle control as well, so I’m happy with that.”
Former Workington rider Wright said: “Since the end of 2023 it has been non-stop really with planning the meeting. It has taken all winter to plan it all so pleased it proved to be a good day for me and my family.”
