Workington Reds have confirmed their first pre-season friendly against professional opposition.
It will be the annual warm-up game against county neighbours Carlisle United and has been arranged for Saturday, July 13.
The two county sides have played this particular fixture for many years at Borough Park.
New manager Mark Fell has worked with Carlisle boss Paul Simpson previously at Preston North End and was always looking to continue the association.
Fell has a number of other games planned ahead of the new NPL Premier Division season, which will start with the usual pipe-opener at Whitehaven for the Shaun Hocking Memorial Trophy.
There are also likely to be games against Penrith and other local sides, as well as matches against Football League sides which still have to be announced.
Carlisle have gone further and announced four of their pre-season games.
They will start with a traditional local one, too, when they visit Frenchfield on Friday, July 5 to play Northern League Penrith.
They will travel to Kendal to play Jimmy Marshall’s North West Counties side on Tuesday, July 9 and then have the trip to Workington on July 13.
There’s full-time opposition on Saturday, August 3 when they host Stockpott County who have swapped places with United for next season.
Other pre-season games for United will be announced when they are confirmed.
